Laboratory of Spectroscopy and Photometry of
Extragalactic Objects

The main scientific fields:

  • Observational study of of central engines in Active Galactic Nuclei: spectral and spectrapolarimetric monitoring, measuring black hole masses in active galaxies. Radiogalaxies.
  • Morphology and kinematics of different types of galaxies: peculiar and interacting galaxies, polar ring galaxies, etc.
  • Feedback processes in galaxies: impact of star formation regions on interstellar medium, galactic winds.
  • Gravitational lenses.
  • Study of high-redshift galaxies and QSO.
  • Methodical works: development of spectral, photometric and polarimetric instrumentation for the SAO RAS 6-m telescope as well as for other telescopes and observatories.
The researches are mostly based on observations at the SAO RAS 6-m telescope using the equipment, developed in the laboratory.
