Spectroscopy of the hypergiant HD 183143
Authors:
E.L.Chentsov
The evidence that the luminosity of HD 183143 is higher than it was
considered earlier by a one magnitude is adduced. The star is one more
white galactic hypergiant of the spectral class B6-8 Ia-0. Its absolute
visual magnitude is close to -8 and the distance - to 2 kpc. The
spectroscopic manifestations of instability of its atmosphere and wind are
described.
